garbettart.com: The Snapshot
Paul wanted a site to showcase his personal and professional paintings as well as the ability to maintain and update the site himself. Paul, in consultation with Adrenaline, designed the layout of the site. Adrenaline adapted the design for the web and built the site using a scalable Content Management System with a custom developed administration section to allow Paul to update the site.
Adrenaline helped create the web site by:
- Building the site with a Content Management System so Paul can update the site himself
- Recommending a professional, client managed hosting package
- Customizing the Administration system for the specific needs of the site
- Creating two types of galleries - a showcase and twice a week gallery
- Training to instruct how to update the site without knowing HTML

Paul engaged Adrenaline to built a simple, manageable site to showcase his personal and professional paintings. Paul wanted a site that he could update himself without knowing HTML. Adrenaline was able to meet all of his requirements.
Adrenaline used the following key elements for the website:
- A Content Management System
The Content Management System
A content management system, often referred to as a CMS, is a system that allows individuals who are not programmers to manage the content of the web site. Tasks include change, add, and delete content (text and graphic) as well as add or remove pages as needed. This is done by logging into the system through a browser. The content management is simple and quick, making changes much like you would if you were editing a Word document. With an hours worth of training, anyone can manage the content of a web site using the CMS we designed. The CMS model empowers our clients and allows them to make changes quickly and easily without additional costs. Alternately some clients prefer that we make changes. Our CMS speeds up those changes and saves costs in this model as well.
Content Management Systems also serve as a base to introduce customized functionality. In the case of garbettart.com we developed two custom gallery administration systems. One system is used to administer the tranistional galleries and another to administer the Twice a Week page.
Because the system abstracts content from presentation, another great benefit of using a CMS is that should an organization opt for a new design there is no need to start from the ground up and redo the entire site. We are able to program a new look and use the existing content as well as easily modify the existing content. It's a return on investment that you may not see immediately, but over time it will pay for itself over and over again.

We suggested a web site that eased the way for existing and new patrons to view the menus online before visiting the restaurant or ordering take out/delivery.
